Painting WH40K Miniatures Tutorial

Probably most of you already know how to paint minifigs so this tutorial won't show you anything new, but I know that there might be some people who are new to this hobby and need a little guidance with that.

So here it is: ## steps on How To Paint WH40K Miniatures!

1. Basecoating - you might think that this is pointles, because first you paint your miniature with (usually) one colour and then you cover it with other so it won't be seem. But it is important, it prevents the final layer of paint from falling off and it can change tone of the final layer colour.

For Space Marines I usually use just one colour - black, it's universal and every other colour will look good on it without painting too many layers.
But for my Imperial Guardsman I use two colours - black for the armor, and white for cloth and skin. I can tell you that there is a difference between painting skin  and cloth over white and over black base.

2. Layering - This is simple, just paint everything with any colour you want. But there is some advices:

-start with elements which are hard to reach and which are "under" other (like faces, neck, part of an armor between chest and arm, clothes) so you won't make a mess on already painted elements while trying to get to these.
-do not hurry - this is not a race, be careful so you won't make mistakes and destroy anything which was painted before

3. Using shades - Shade is really cool type of paint. It changes tone of every colour and also adds some shading effect on clothes, armor, everything! But you have to be careful - it's easy to destroy whole miniature (I had to repaint 2 models because of that...). Try to avoid making stains, because when it'll dry it won't look so good...

(Here I painted the parchment of a purity seal white, and then I added 3-4 layers of Agrax Earthshade to get this effect)

After these 3 steps minifigure should look good enough, but if you want to you can also use some drybrushing technique, but this is material for other tutorial (and also I should first try to do it...)
