SM Sergeant Banner Tutorial

Banner can be a problematic part of a Space Marine mianiature - but with this tutorial it should be much easier!

One of the main problems with banners is to paint a graphic on it - first 4 steps will show you a simple trick which will help you to deal with it. Second part of this tutorial is about connecting banner with a backpack by using a bolt made of paper clip piece.

List of the things you will need:

-1mm drill
-piece of paper (the thinner the better - it will be explained later)
-paper clip (+/-1mm thick)
-PVA glue
-cyanoacrylate glue
-space marine and a banner obviously

STEP 1:

Measure the area of the banner where you want to paint a graphic and draw a rectangle with proper dimensions.

STEP 2:

Draw anything you want inside of this rectangle

STEP 3:

Paint it

STEP 4:

Cut it out and glue it to the banner with PVA glue. Press with your nails paper to the banner so it will have same foldings as the banner has. After that paint the edges of the paper so they won't be white and less visible. Note that the thinner paper the less it will be noticeable!

STEP 5:

Drill holes in the backpack and in the banner.Try to make a hole right in the middle of each part so the banner will be placed properly.

STEP 6:

Cut a piece of the paper clip and place it inside of the banner. If it's falling out of the hole use a cyanoacrylate glue.

STEP 7:

Just put your banner on the backpack - it should fit and be placed firmly and also you will be able to detach it from your Space Marine so he would be easily placed inside of the standard transporting case!

So that's all you need to know to make a nice banner for your miniature!

If you are wondering what does the "W.S." mean and why this is a Blood Raven and not Übermarine - stay tuned, I'll explain it sooner or later!
