Betrayal at Calth update - tactical squad progress

Hi! Today I've assembled 5 of my tactical marines from the Betrayal at Calth boxset. I've finally used mk IV Iron Hands shoulderpads from Forge World and also bionic arms from Anvil Industry. I've made 3 marines with boltguns and two with both heavy weapons included in the box - missile launcher and heavy bolter.

Hey! I have finally started to work on my Iron Hands from the Betrayal at Calth box! This monday I've received a package with 5 pairs of bionic arms made by Anvil Studios! Since I haven't seen any reviews or photos of these parts being used on SM models I've decided to make a small review of my own.

Betrayal at Calth update: Terminators!

I have finally finised the models that were the most important to me in the Betrayal at Calth boxset - the Cataphracti Terminators!

Thinking out loud: Hexhammer 40k

I bet I'm not the only one who had similar idea to mine: "How about adding more units to the Betrayal at Calth?" - that's why I've decided to start making an unofficial addon to this game: the Hexhamer 40k (well it's not final name, I had to come up with something:P).

Betrayal at Calth update: Contemptor pattern Dreadnought + termies WIP

Hey! Last week I've finished painting the Dreadnought form BaC game. I've magnetized its heavy weapon arms so I could swap between Multimelta and Kheres Assault Cannon. I think I prefer the assault cannon due to it's badass look:P

Back to... the future? First Horus Heresy era model! (+ bonus content)

Yes, I couldn't stop myself - I had to make at least one model from Betrayal at Calth set. Since I'm planning to order shoulder pads for tacticals from FW I had to choose from termies, heroes and dreadnought - and I started with termies, the main reason why I wanted this set so badly.

Another news - Betrayal at Calth!

Hey! I've just got my own (well, partially) box of the Betrayal at Calth game. I've bought it with 2 of my friends and finally I have it in my own hands!

My friends bought 2x10 tactical marines and I got the rest. Now there is a question - what I should do first? Tacticals have to wait for FW Iron Hands Shoulderpads (and I didn't even order them yet - I'll do it after next payday). That means that I have to choose from Kurtha Sedd (I keep forgetting his name so he will be called "a commander" or just "chaplain" or "apostle"), Aethon, termies and dreadnought. But to be honest I have a lot of other models to finish (like Raptors, Skitarii, Guardsmen, Rubrics - YES, RUBRICS -, Sorcerer and received today Missionary and metal Sorcerer) and that makes this more complicated... (ok it's termies or dreadnought:P)

Betrayal at Calth - first impressions

Today I had a chance to play the brand new GW boardgame - the Betrayal at Calth!

The hunt begins...

Today I'm going to show you my first Chaos Space Marines Raptor. It's obviously painted in blue and gold of the Thousand Sons Legion, and it's armed with chainsword and boltpistol. I've always wanted to have a unit with jumppacks and this time has finally come!

Quick Update - Heavenly Warrior

Hello everyone! As you can see I've been quite silent for some time now - it's all because of the constant lack of time. But finally I've got a secong to make a short post about... the Stormcast Eternal. As some of you might know GW has included a stormcast eternal miniature in the first issue of White Dwarf about the old/new Warhammer Fantasy - Age of Sigmar. I've managed to grab one of them even before the release and I've painted it the same day. But I'm many many months late to post it here:P

The one to rule them all... but bigger and better!

You may remembermy previous Chaos Lord from Dark Vengeance set. He is the Lord of the Thousand Sons and I named him Kronos the Desecrator. Few weeks ago I bought myself a new Lord - the CSM Lord in Terminator Armour, my first "bigger" independent character.

Dreadniughts - I have been always fascinated with these big and powerful units. I like it's design, I enjoy watching it as it's destroying enemies in Dawn of War games and I have done it by myself in Space Marine game. But I always wanted to have at least one of them in my own collection. I know - I have a hellbrute, but it's not the same. I wanted ancient warior who would aid my loyalists in battle. And this year my Girlfriend had a fantastic surprise for my birthday :3

Change of plans

There was a thing about which I have thought for a long time now - it's my Space Marine Chapter, the Übermarines. I'm not so happy with them, they lack something, they lack lore, originality, their "spirit". They seem a little boring to me and also they are succesors of the Ultramarines - I respect them, but I don't like them too much. And because all of that I've decided to start making another chapter, but I didn't know which one. Well, I didn't know until the release of Skitarii.

Some of you might know already which chapter I've decided to pick - yes, it's the Iron Hands, one of the original twenty legions, the first one to lose the Primarch and one which is most ignored and forgotten among the Space Marine players.

Why them? It's all because of the Adeptus Mechanicus! And now I can have brand new units of Skitarii which will be aided by Iron Hands, Chapter which is in close relations with Ad Mechs!

And here he is, the first of my Iron Hands!

Big Guns Never Tire

During this weekend not only I've finished the Command Squad but also I've made second out of three heavy weapons for Imperial Guard. This time I've made autocannon - I really like the look of it, this weapon can shred infantry with no effort.

Imperial Guard Command Squad

Another unit complete - this time Imperial Guard. I've decided to put away Skitarii for a while to prevent getting bored with them and I also wanted to make something for my little IG army. Since I've already made the Commander I've decided to finish his command squad.

Lords of Mars

As you could notice I'm having a huge hype on Adeptus Mechanicus right now (of course I've already liked them for so long before:P) so it was just a matter of time before I would buy another IG Techpriest Enginseer. I have one already but I thought that now I am able to paint him much better and use proper martian colours! And after waiting 3 weeks for mail order to come I have painted him in one day!

Adeptus Mechanicus, oh I have waited so long for GW to release them. I was always amazed by Skitarii conversions found on the internet and now I can have my own, original Skitarii. And here they are, the first basic squad of the Skitarii Rangers!

Tempestus Scions reporting in!

Phew... I've made it - I've finished the last on of the Scions. I wouldn't start the Skitarii before finishing this, so I had a motivation to finish it quickly! So here it is - the Red Squad of the Scions!

Skitarii Rangers and Martian Ironearth

Finally... After months of waiting... They have come... The warriors of Adeptus Mechanicus, the Skitarii!

I'm a fan of Ad Mech and I really really hoped, that the rumours about releasing a new army of Ad Mech were true - and here we have it! Yesterday I had a chance to buy my box of the Rangers/Vanguard and new technical paint - the Martian Ironearth. Of course I couldn't stop myself from painting at least one of the Skitarii (and I ended up making two of them:P).

Chimera Armoured Transport ready for duty!

I've painted this model few months ago and I couldn't decide if it was ready or not - it was lacking something. But yesterday I had an idea and I have added few new elements to this model and here it is - Imperial Guard Chimera!

(As you can see I have printed my own decal - too bad that I don't have better printer)

The One to rule them all

I'm very proud of myself - today I've made the best miniature I've ever made, Chaos Space Marine Lord from the Dark Vengeance set. I wanted to paint him as the last miniature from the set and the delay which I had with Cultists was really annoying. But finally, after 8 (?) months from the day when I bought this set I could be able to paint this model.

New Imperial units

I really like Imperial Guard - they may be weak, but they are awesome. They are just simple humans fighting with all of the galaxies threats - horrible xenos and fearsome traitors. And they also have their amazing heavy support with all of the Bassilisks, Leman Russes and Super Heavy Tanks. But I bet most of you know it already.

New Year, new projects, new ideas

Well, well, well... So it's 2015 already - it's been almost 6 months since last post. I know I said I will make posts regurarly, but I can't do it. I don't have this much time for painting and even thinking about this blog. But I didn't forget about it! It's still alive :)

I have painted some miniatures, most of them are from Dark Vengeance set (I have finally completed the Chaos Space Marines), but there are some Imperia... err, Astra Militarum units (I wanted them to be a supporting army for my Space Marines but well... Now AM is my main force).
